Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Mortgage Website Shop collects through mortgagewebsiteshop.com, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.

Who we are

Mortgage Website Shop is a website and marketing provider for mortgage professionals in the United States. We are not a lender or broker. For this policy, "we" means Mortgage Website Shop. You can reach us through the contact page.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you fill in a form (order, contact, booking, partner application) we collect what you type: typically your name, email, phone, company, role, NMLS ID, licensed states, website details and your message. Please never send borrower data, Social Security numbers or passwords through our forms.

Campaign information. If you arrived from an ad or link, we store the campaign parameters in the address (such as utm_source or gclid), the page you landed on and the referring site, so we know which marketing works. These travel with any form you send.

Device and usage information. With your consent only, analytics tools may collect pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device and browser type. Without consent, no analytics run.

Preferences. Your display settings (theme, palette, text size) and recent searches are stored in your own browser and never sent to us.

How we use it

  • To reply to you, prepare quotes and invoices, and deliver the services you order.
  • To send follow-up messages you agreed to (you can opt out any time).
  • To understand which pages and campaigns work, if you consented to analytics.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent spam and fraud.
  • To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under California law.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the business, under contracts that limit their use of it: our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare), the CRM we use to manage enquiries, our team chat used for internal notifications, our email and calendar providers, and, with your consent, analytics providers. We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect rights and safety. If the business is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

Information on client websites

When we build and host a website for a mortgage professional, that client decides what their site collects from borrowers and is responsible for their own privacy notice and legal obligations (for example under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act). We process that information on their behalf and only as instructed.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become clients are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymised. Client records are kept for the life of the relationship plus the period required for tax and legal purposes (typically up to seven years). You can ask us to delete information sooner, subject to legal limits.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states with privacy laws, you may have the right to know what we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising (we do not sell or share). You will not be treated differently for using these rights. Use the data request page. We respond within the time the law requires, usually 45 days, and may need to verify your identity. An authorised agent may make a request on your behalf with proof of authority.

Cookies and similar technologies

See the cookie policy for the full list. Non-essential cookies and scripts load only after you agree in the cookie banner, and you can change your mind any time.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, forms are protected against spam and automated abuse, and access to enquiry data is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

Children

Our services are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We will update the date at the top when this policy changes, and highlight material changes on the site.
